SPA's Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG), part of the Strategic Programs and Critical Infrastructure Division (SPCID) is hiring for a Senior Operations Research Analyst.

 

Responsibilities

The Senior Operations Research Analyst will be responsible for developing a variety of benefits estimating products using OR tools and techniques, such as queuing analysis, linear programming, and cost savings generally performed in conjunction with cost analysts. Evaluating a programs' impact on operations to determine the appropriate benefits model to apply. For example, a new runway increases airport capacity a queuing model may be the most appropriate to estimate changes in flight delay. Performing duties such as data collection, model development, database management, data normalization, risk analysis, sensitivity analysis and economic evaluations (e.g., net present value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and other return-on-investment metrics). Actively participating in technical working groups with engineering, budget, schedule, and acquisition functional team members. Manage customer relationships and expectations as well as provide directions/guidance to junior OR Analysts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for a US Public Trust clearance (Must have US Citizenship).
  • 10+ years of experience in OR/benefits analysis and/or analytical focused positions.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Business or Finance.
  • Database skills (Oracle or another SQL, preferred)  & Strong analytical background in gathering and interpreting complex amounts of data and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) programs & Knowledge of aviation and air traffic operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong statistical knowledge and application using tools such as Crystal Ball™ or @Risk™ to perform Monte-Carlo analyses.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., Masters/PhD).
