The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

 

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM.  SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

 

We have a near-term need for a Logistics and Sustainment Subject Matter Expert to support the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Product Support (DASD PS). This role is located onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

The candidate will support planning, management, coordination, integration, and oversight of Regional Sustainment Framework (RSF) activities and initiatives for DASD(PS), and provide onsite expertise to facilitate the development, publication, and upkeep of the RSF Implementation Guidance. This will include gathering inputs, identifying priorities, assessing gaps across the enterprise, and devising plans and solutions to address identified priorities and gaps. The successful candidate will be capable of building and executing a team-based approach to ideate, overcome challenges, and move RSF activities and initiatives forward. Specific tasks will include creation and maintenance of the RSF for platforms, services, and locations; support for the execution of RSF implementation guidance; development of a Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAM) for RSF implementation; working with stakeholders from Combatant Commands, Military Services, Defense Agencies, the Joint Staff, other federal agencies, allies, and partners to develop requirements priorities; strategic communications and messaging; supporting office Congressional legislative matters related to the RSF; and consolidation of best practices and lessons learned on Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) efforts. The candidate will also support senior-leader preparation and engagements, building briefings, reports, information papers, talking points, and other products to support engagements with stakeholders, allies, and partners.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Top Secret Clearance.
  • 10+ years of experience relevant experience with international logistics/sustainment support related to maintenance, repair, overhaul, and depot operations of weapons systems.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience staffing and supporting senior leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a background in achieving consensus among multiple diverse stakeholders.
