The Space and Intelligence Division provides professional services to the US Space Force, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, and NASA. Our work includes enterprise architectural assessments, systems engineering and integration, test, planning and execution, cost estimating and analysis, acquisition support, and cybersecurity. We are trusted partners developing approaches and concepts to meet emerging high priority needs, assessing cutting-edge technologies, and supporting capabilities for our National Defense.

 

The Space Systems Group, part fo SPA's Space and Intelligence Division, provides timely and objective assessments and recommendations integrating technical, operational, programmatic, policy, and business analysis. We focus on our key clients in the Space community including the US Space Force’s Space Systems Command (USSF/SSC), one of the three designated Field Commands under USSF. We work tirelessly to provide integrated solutions based on information and communications throughout the chain of command. We provide clear and consistent analysis and recommendations which are aligned to strategic and leadership goals while balancing the ability to execute on time and on budget within the technical communities.

 

SPA has a near term need for Acquisition Support.

Responsibilities

Description of duties

You will support the Strategic SATCOM Division within Space Systems Command’s Military Communication and Position, Navigation, and Timing PEO organization (SSC/CGS). You will provide acquisition support to SSC/CGS customers, who are developing and fielding the Evolved Strategic SATCOM (ESS) and Enhanced Polar System – Recapitalization (EPS-R) programs.

 

This position interacts with the O-6 Division Chief, who is a Senior Materiel Leader (SML), his Materiel Leaders (MLs), and integrated product teams on a daily basis. You will be in the premier space acquisition organization responsible for delivering space-based capabilities and effects to our warfighters and allied partners.  Key duties associated with this position include:

 

  • Apply critical thinking and experience to develop solutions for our customer’s most challenging issues.
  • Develop strategic messaging and communication products that support Program Management Reviews and Key Decision Point briefings to senior leaders.
  • Analyze and advise the government on various phases of the planning, programming, budgeting, and execution process.
  • Manage information requests, inquiries, and tasks through completion.  This includes facilitating coordination with internal/external stakeholders and staffing products for Division-level leadership and/or Program Executive Officer review/approval.
  • Perform research and analysis that summarize relevant issues, incorporate policy and guidance, addresses government, industry, and international partner perspectives to provide recommendations and/or potential courses of action.
  • Support customer meetings, which includes producing read-ahead materials, drafting meeting minutes and tracking assigned action items, providing logistical support to include submitting/tracking visit requests and distributing meeting information.

 

Qualifications

Required qualifications

• Completion of a Master’s degree in a related field
• 12+ years of acquisition and contracting experience supporting Air Force and/or DoD Programs
• APDP level II certification and/or Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Expertise using MS Office applications and software
• US Citizenship and possess an active DoD Secret clearance
• Limited travel may be required


Preferred qualifications

• 17+ years of acquisition and contracting experience supporting Air Force and/or DoD Programs
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Department of Defense, Air Force, and/or Space Force processes and procedures

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  California Pay Transparency Range:  140k - 280k
