The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

 

The Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) within JOID provides technical, programmatic and analytical support to customers with missions in national security to include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Group brings technical and operational expertise in fields of countering weapons of mass destruction, critical infrastructure protection, emergency response, nuclear non-proliferation, weapons deployment programs, and transportation safety. In addition to management and advisory services, CIG staff collaborate closely with our clients to provide high-quality modeling, simulation, software, and analytical products to meet the most demanding government standards and timelines.

 

We have an immediate need for administrative staff to provide support to DHS Customs and Border Protection (CBP) customers located in Washington, DC. These positions allow for hybrid work schedules.

Responsibilities

The candidate will provide support for various administrative functions for CBP customer Front Office, Division Directors, and PMs. Provide internal guidance and coordination regarding administrative functions, management controls, metrics development, standard operating procedures, and general compliance. Assist in facilitating coordination, response, and monitoring of all document request and correspondence for internal and external taskers using SharePoint and/or Excel tools. Provide planning and logistics support for events such as in-person and virtual strategy sessions, program reviews, staff meetings, stakeholder engagements, etc. Take meeting minutes/notes, provide for government approval, and distribute minutes/notes once approved. Provide procedural and technical advice, interpretations, and guidance to staff and stakeholders regarding the preparation of written materials, workflow, and clearance processing to ensure timely responses. Initiate drafts, distribute and consolidate inputs, and/or edit responses to RFIs, memos, briefings, reports, and other executive correspondence products using template language and standard formatting styles. Proofread, edit, and revise content to established formatting and style standards. Facilitate accurate and timely delivery of requested products by serving as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders and providing correction or guidance to divisions and offices regarding established business management techniques. Monitor metrics and contribute to daily and weekly reporting to CBP senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Degree and Experience Requirements
    • Senior: Bachelor's and 10+ years of experience
    • Journeyman: Bachelor's and 3+ years of experience
    • Junior: Bachelor's and 1 year of experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Experience working with and supporting senior-level government management
  • Strong organization and communications skills

Desired:

  • Active DHS Suitability or CBP Background Investigation

Salary transparency pay range for the Washington DC area: $31.50- $55.00 per hour.
