SPA’s Sea Land Air (SLA) Division supports a diverse portfolio of national security government clients, including the Undersea Enterprise, the Navy Surface Community, the Navy MPTE Enterprise, the Army, DoD Agencies, DARPA, OSD, international clients including the Canadian Navy and Australian Defense Force.  Our primary objective is to provide timely, objective and analytic assessments that integrate the policy, operational, technical, programmatic and acquisition aspects of our clients’ challenges.

 

Leveraging both in-domain and cross-domain expertise to maximize our clients’ success, SLA Division acts as trusted agents to senior decision-makers and key leaders and excels at providing data driven analytic insights, systems engineering, strategies and plans that address current and emerging challenges to national security.

 

Within the SLA Division, Integrated Warfare Systems Group (IWSG) comprises more than 80 staff that provide program and project management, systems and digital engineering, software, test & evaluation, logistics, cybersecurity, international/Foreign Military Sales, strategic communications, and IT support to more than 40 programs and projects in the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems, Above Water Sensors Directorate (PEO IWS 2.0) and customers in Naval Surface Warfare Dahlgren Division’s Integrated Combat System department, Office of Naval Research, and the Navy’s Team SUBS office. #MC

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior System Engineer to support NAVSEA program office charged with the planning and management for all stages of a major acquisition program.  Responsibilities will include strategic planning and coordination of program wide activities; ensuring compliance with DoD Acquisition Framework requirements; supporting the Acquisition Director in development of integrated budgets and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) submittals; developing and implementing office and organizational administrative policies and procedures; and collaborating directly with the Acquisition Director to determine and prioritize objectives.

 

This position is primary located at SPA's offices in Alexandria, VA or Washington, D.C. with some opportunity for light telework. Local weekly travel to Manassas, VA and the Washington Navy Yard is required. There may be opportunities for periodic trips outside of the DC area to support customer meetings. There may be an opportunity to supervise up to five SPA personnel, if desired.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  Washington, DC Pay Transparency Range:  140,000-170,000

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
  • At least 10 years relevant experience, including experience supporting a DoD program office
  • Experience maturing technology and performing technology development, testing, integration, testing, and transition to production
  • Active DoD SECRET Clearance, and ability to maintain it throughout employment
