The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
The Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) within JOID provides technical, programmatic and analytical support to customers with missions in national security to include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Group brings technical and operational expertise in fields of countering weapons of mass destruction, critical infrastructure protection, emergency response, nuclear non-proliferation, weapons deployment programs, and transportation safety. In addition to management and advisory services, CIG staff collaborate closely with our clients to provide high-quality modeling, simulation, software, and analytical products to meet the most demanding government standards and timelines.
We have a near-term need for a Systems Engineer to support to DHS customers located in Washington, DC. This position allows for a hybrid work schedule.
Provide expertise and technical assistance across systems engineering and acquisition lifecycles for all acquisition program levels. Support planning, implementation, and execution of systems engineering activities. Perform requirements development and System Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) planning, technical reviews, and technical activities throughout program lifecycles. Develop models of systems processes, simulations, analyses, and reporting supporting program decisions and enterprise-level strategic directives and initiatives. Prepare and present authoritative advice and recommendations to a variety of audiences including scientific professionals, non-technical senior leadership, and equipment end-users. Oversee Test and Evaluation (T&E) lifecycle processes and deliverables (including Operational T&E) and develop, advise, and test new approaches and theories. Perform integrated Logistics and Sustainment (L&S) lifecycle activities across policy, planning, implementation, assessments, workforce development, technical assistance, training, and asset management. Execute planning, tool development, and integration and generation of artifacts to expedite program and enterprise efforts. Generate and review policy, process, and procedural documents to support efficient execution of tasks; provide input into agency-wide acquisition policy and support workforce development. Assist the development, oversight, and execution of strategies to support the transition to Digital Engineering (DE) and Modeling and Simulation (M&S) in acquisitions. Provide expertise in support of Federal IT and non-IT programs throughout the acquisition lifecycle framework activities and documentation requirements.
