The Corporate Business Development team leads SPA’s business development activities in existing and emerging defense and civilian markets. The group’s core areas of responsibility include capture and proposal management, pricing, company pipeline development and maintenance, GWAC management, business intelligence research, and the formation of strategic partnerships.

 

SPA has an immediate or near term need for a Pricing Analyst. 

Responsibilities

Provide pricing support to simple and complex cost proposals. Support analyses and strategy development for high visibility procurements, including ensuring compliance with firm estimating systems. Design, develop and prepare cost models and cost proposals, provide guidance and council to clients on all aspects of proposal preparation, including market, wage analyses, RFP analysis, FAR, CAS, disclosure and compliance issues, terms, pricing strategies, business risks, and cost proposal content. Research and conduct competitive analyses. Review and check work of fellow analysts.

 

Candidate will be responsible for the design, development and preparation of cost volumes. The position will advise internal SPA customers on all aspects of proposal preparation, including market, wage analyses, RFP analysis, FAR, CAS, disclosure and compliance issues, terms, pricing strategies, and business risks.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Candidates need experience in using their strong excel skills, writing ability, knowledge of the procurement process, interpersonal skills in support of company bids to the Federal government. The Pricing Analyst shall have proven analytical skills to suggest solutions to complex pricing problems. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include:

  • 5+ years of experience with pricing, accounting, finance, or contracting
  • Experience with modeling in Excel
  • Knowledge of the FAR, the government acquisition process, and the difference between cost and price
  • Ability to analyze and communicate effectively with senior leadership
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Desired Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience with federal government contract pricing
  • Experience with professional services or systems development proposals
  • Experience in the consulting services environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, including PowerPoint and Access
  • Cost Estimating, Contract Management, or Proposal Management Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related field
