The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

 

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM.  SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

 

We have an upcoming need for an Executive Assistant to support a Senior Executive Service (SES) customer under the auspices of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Product Support (DASD PS). This role is located onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

The candidate will support the SES for the government Regional Sustainment Framework (RSF) staff and perform routine administrative functions for the office. Apply familiarity with software applications such as the DoD’s Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and experience engaging with and supporting senior-level DoD executive leadership. Specific tasks will include managing the day-to-day calendar for the office’s SES leadership; preparing daily read-ahead packages and binder for RSF meetings; coordinating and planning travel via the Defense Travel System (DTS); and preparing and compiling relevant travel materials including information papers, read-ahead, biographies, and background information. The candidate will also be responsible for RSF office operations, including maintaining the RSF action tracker; preparing and managing correspondence packages; monitoring and managing CATMS taskings; facilitating allied and partner nation personnel visits to the Pentagon and other DoD or Contractor facilities; facilitating and planning in-person and virtual meetings and webinars; preparing and distributing meeting materials; collaborating with the DASD(PS) Executive Secretary; and providing technical writing and graphics support for communications materials.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • 5+ years of experience with supporting senior-level DoD leadership and members of the Senior Executive Service; a Master’s degree can be substituted for two years of experience.
  • Knowledge of CATMS and MS Office.
  • Understanding of international protocols for working with allied and partner nations.
  • Understanding of the Defense Travel System.
  • Experience staffing and supporting senior leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a background in achieving consensus among multiple diverse stakeholders.
