SPA has an immediate need for a highly qualified RF Communications SME.

Responsibilities

  • Assist program office personnel with engineering, systems engineering, coordination, and other supporting tasks to integrate new Cyber, Electronic Warfare (EW), and Non-Kinetic Effects (NKE) capabilities via software/firmware (SW/FW) design enhancements to existing Radio Frequency (RF) systems.
    • Participate in tailored system engineering reviews contributing to acquisition program milestone decision processes.
    • Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings, reports, and summary papers; explain complex concepts in relatively simple language; summarize key decisions; and provide recommendations supported by analysis.
  • Research, design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for a DoD Rapid Prototyping capability.
  • Employ knowledge of electrical theory. Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.
  • Work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions.
  • Be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert exhibiting a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness:
    • Applies and/or develops highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts
    • Often acts independently to resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs
    • Plans, programs, and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long range objectives
    • Supervises and provides managerial/leadership skills or provides corporate operational functions
  • Provide objective information and analysis to support decision making on current and future investments.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS Security Clearance with SCI and SAP Eligibility
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of experience in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines; Master’s Degree and 4+ years of experience in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines
  • 5+ years technical or program management experience with the Department of Defense or the Intelligence Community with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with RF technologies; experience must include a majority subset of the following:
    • Knowledge of RF and radar systems
    • Analysis of RF system concepts to develop requirements and lead design, development, and integration activities
    • Tracking, monitoring, analyzing, and providing recommendations for system enhancements
    • Developing and analyzing technical documentation such as requirements, concept of operations, high-level system architectures, and system specifications
    • Ensuring designs are compatible with the architecture and allocated requirements to segments
    • Identifying technical risks and mitigation strategies
    • Supporting development and verification of RF systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and writing) skills:
    • Demonstrated experience using critical thinking to prepare written reports and presentations for decision makers
    • Demonstrated experience compiling and articulating complex technical knowledge into digestible talking points for senior leaders
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to plan, work, and deliver both independently and as part of a diverse team focused on delivering novel capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and manage developers/engineers across disciplines to implement customer and system requirements 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with both developmental and operational test communities
  • Demonstrated experience with NKE operations in large force exercises and readying operators for real-world operations
  • Experience with the design, development, and maintenance of software and firmware for embedded devices
  • Experience with waveform design optimization to improve the performance of radar and communication systems
  • Experience with Tactical Data Links and the associated metrics to ensure secure military communications
  • Experience with Software-Defined Radio (SDR) communication systems
