The SPA Contracts and Procurement organization strategically supports operating Divisions to assist in company growth and to reduce contractual risk.  The Junior Contracts Administrator is responsible for contract administration activities related to contracts within the Federal Government. The right individual must be highly motivated to support a growing company, have a passion for learning, and have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.  An understanding of federal government contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide augmented administration support to Contracts Administrators by preparing internal and external contractual documentation, reporting requirements, proposals, and file maintenance.
  • Review solicitation packages and support proposal preparation.
  • Support negotiations of terms and conditions, scope, cost and price of government contracts and subcontracts at assigned thresholds.
  • With guidance from Senior Contracts Administrators, exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Requires a degree of analytical ability to understand and interpret complex data and solve complex problems.
  • Regularly interact with customers, management (at all levels) and members of functional management regarding acquisition requirements and issue resolution.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is desired.
  • 0 - 3 years of experience in private industry providing contract administration in a non-Government Systems Engineering Technical and Assistance (SETA) role.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) is desired.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and highly motivated.
  • Eligibility for a DoD security clearance is desired.
