The Integrated Warfare Systems Group (IWSG) comprises more than 80 staff that provide program and project management, systems and digital engineering, software, test & evaluation, logistics, cybersecurity, international/Foreign Military Sales, strategic communications, and IT support to more than 40 programs and projects in the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems, Above Water Sensors Directorate (PEO IWS 2.0) and customers in Naval Surface Warfare Dahlgren Division’s Integrated Combat System department, Office of Naval Research, and the Navy’s Team SUBS office. #MC

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Journeyman Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division's (NSWCDD) Electromagnetic and Sensor Department.

You will support the Multispectral Camouflage Management (MCM) program. The MCM program provides data collection using electro-optic and infrared sensors, and then provides image processing and data analyses to generate data products such as reports. You may be asked to perform modeling and simulation (M&S) to help inform decisions and processes.

You must have the ability to provide detailed and thorough engineering analysis and briefings, experience with electro-optic and infrared sensors, and have the ability to work from NSWC Dahlgren 5 days per week. No travel is expected in this position. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or higher degree from an accredited university in engineering
  • 3+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience in most of the following areas:
    • Electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) sensors
    • Basic image processing
    • Modeling and Simulation (M&S)
    • Technical Writing
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using Night Vision Integrated Performance Model (NV-IPM) 
  • Familiarity with Python/MATLAB
