SPA’s Air Force and Army Portfolio provides aviation-focused analysis and program management for life-cycle systems engineering and logistics support, rapid capabilities development and fielding, cyber warfare operations, nuclear C3, and integrated air and missile defense planning. We provide advanced studies, wargame development, and analysis to support materiel operations, supply strategies, and fleet readiness.

SPA has an immediate need for an Airspace Manager to support our customer in Fort Irwin, CA.

Responsibilities

Exercise Green Flag provides a training venue to joint and coalition aircrew, air liaison officers, joint terminal attack controllers, air battle managers, and weapons systems operators in the planning and execution of joint air-surface operations in counter-land and counter-sea operations. Personnel supporting this effort will provide suitable air-surface subject matter expertise (SME) necessary to conduct their missions within the 12th Combat Training Squadron (12 CTS) at the National Training Center (NTC). This includes exercise planning, debrief production, after-action report support, Air Support Operations Center (ASOC) emulation, Combined Air-Space Operations Center (CAOC) air/consolidated tasking order (ATO/CTO) production, and SME personnel through the exercise battle cycle.

 

JICO duties include:

 

  • Coordinate with airspace command and control to ensure safety of aircraft and counter-fire operations.
  • Coordinate airspace plans across assigned ranges and restricted operating zones.
  • Coordinate with FAA and military airspace agencies.
  • Development and collection of exercise data.

CA Pay Transparency: $75,000 - $85,000. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • H.S Diploma
  • 4+ years of Airspace coordination experience within large air-surface ranges and restricted operating zones, including coordination with FAA and military radar control agencies
  • Familiar with ASOC, TACP, and JTAC airspace needs
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with multiple joint/coalition tactical units
  • Experience managing attack aviation in military operations and exercises
  • DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Air battle management or air traffic control qualification and experience
  • Experience with Green Flag, National Training Center, or similar exercises
  • Demonstrated ability with MS Office and other data-management tools
