The Space and Intelligence (S&I) Division provides engineering services and analytic support to the Air Force, Space Force, Combatant Commands, the Intelligence Community, and NASA. Our work includes systems engineering and integration, test planning and execution, cost estimating and analysis, developing approaches and concepts to meet emerging, high priority National Defense needs, and assessing and developing cutting-edge computer-based solutions, advanced technologies and progressive capabilities to meet those needs.

The S&I Division comprises the Intelligence Programs Group (IPG), the Space Systems Group (SSG), and the Strategic Technology Analysis Group (STAG), which collectively provide outstanding support to help their customers achieve our nation’s most critical objectives and goals designed to protect the safety and livelihoods of all U.S. Citizens, military forces at home and abroad.

S&I Division’s SSG has a near-term need for highly qualified Senior Technical Writer/Editors to support our U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SDA&CP) and Battle Management Command, Control and Communications (BMC3) Support Services contract (Hemisphere) in the Huntsville, AL area.

Senior Writer/Editors assist Program Office leadership performing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and analysis. WIll work with program and project managers to support the design, development, and instantiation of space systems and advanced system capabilities. Successful candidates we seek for this important opportunity will help enable advanced capabilities and proactive protective understanding of how space-based assets and programs operate, interact, and serve our highest priority national defense.

Key duties associated with this role include but are not limited to the following:

• Demonstrate domain expertise in editing for ‘one voice’.
• Write and/or edit public relations-related documentation and copy, e.g,. advertisements, solicitations, speeches, website content, instructions, orders, guidelines, handbooks, manuals, reports, assessments, evaluations, recognitions, justifications, etc. 
• Write/edit U.S. Department of Defense material.
• Write/edit U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force material.

Required

• Active TS/SCI clearance 
• Master’s degree in English, English Composition, or Business Administration or Management with the following equivalency:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and at least 4 years of relevant experience 
• At least 10 years of relevant experience writing/editing in the Department of Defense paradigm 
• Advanced skills in professional technical writing and editing 
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of space system design, development, production and operation 
• Refined knowledge and skill in professional English style guides, e.g., DoDM-5110-4-M, or the Chicago Manual of Style
• Reports to designated work location in Huntsville, AL, up to full time, based on the needs of the customer
