  • Overview

    The Naval Surface Warfare Analysis Group (NSWAG) within SPA supports the Navy and other U.S. and international government organizations with timely and objective capability assessments, technology evaluations, and strategic planning.  We integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy, and business aspects of surface warfare and broader mission areas to create mature products that help important decision makers such as Flag Officers/Senior Executives and others who require robustly integrated support.



    NSWAG delivers:
    • Quantitative and qualitative modeling and analysis using extensive maritime operational and technical experience to find integrated solutions to warfighting challenges
    • Platform, mission, payload, and operating strategies to address capability gaps
    • Policy, technology, and business case assessments, requirements development, technology transition management, operational mission analyses, survivability studies, and program support

    Responsibilities

    The Technical Program Analyst is responsible for implementation and use of the Ship Air Defense Model (SADM) in assessing requirements and developing performance metrics for both international and US navies.  Train and supervise other SADM users within the company.  Provide direct programmatic support to customer Air and Missile defense program offices.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
    • 7-10 years’ experience in a technical or programmatic role involving Naval Air and Missile Defense Systems
    • Proficiency in Radar Systems theory and applications
    • Experience in assisting the Government leadership in the understanding, establishment and analysis of existing and future systems definitions based on projected threats and development of new technologies
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Proven ability to prioritize and execute workload to meet requirements and deadlines.
    • Experience developing written and visual communications that are clear, concise, and suited to the audience.
    • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced and ambiguous environment.
    • Must be capable of breaking down complex issues into simplified problem statements and laying out objective approaches to identify and compare the merits of competing solutions.
    • U.S. Citizenship is required.  Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Candidates will be subject to a security investigation.


    Desired (e.g. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)  

    • Master’s degree in a technical field
    • Knowledge of test and evaluation policy guidance, as it pertains to all test and evaluation documentation (e.g., TEMP development, Developmental/Operational test plans, Test and Evaluation Strategy, etc.)
    • Understanding of Naval Air and Missile Defense tactics, techniques and procedures
