This job provides on-site support to Joint Staff J6 in the Pentagon. The mission of the J6 is to develop Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) and Cyber capability requirements and facilitate on behalf of the Joint Force in order to deliver a sustained information advantage, enable decision and action at the speed of the problem, and to ensure the warfighter receives jointly integrated and effective capabilities necessary to conduct operations. On behalf of the J6 Director, the Deputy Directorate for Cyber and Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Integration (DD C5I) leads efforts for Cyber and C4 capability development, integration and assessments, in order to achieve an interdependent joint force. The DD C5I provides a joint focal point to orchestrate, integrate, and manage designated capabilities across the Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P). #IN123
The I/A System Security Engineer develops and coordinates recommendations, plans, policy and doctrine to support CJCS and CCMD requirements for cyber security of new and legacy weapon systems in development. The System Security Engineer provides Cyber Survivability Endorsement (CSE), Joint Capabilities Integration and Development Systems (JCIDS), DOD Cybersecurity, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) subject matter expertise to ensure weapon systems are cyber survivable commensurate with a risk managed approach to countering a capable and determined adversary. Finally, the System Security Engineer evaluates new capability requirement’s documents for appropriate cyber survivability attributes.
