  • Overview

    Within SOSD, the Surety Programs Group (SPG) supports government and private sector organizations ensuring the security, safety, and reliability of high consequence operations. SPG’s philosophy is to help our clients understand and mitigate mission risks spanning physical, cyber, and human domains. The Data Analytics Manager will lead a team of analysts responsible for systematically evaluating client risks and performance. #IN123

    Responsibilities

    Manage a team of analysts working multiple, concurrent analytical efforts in support of internal and external clients.  Develop plans of action and timetables in order to meet established deadlines; prioritize and execute workload accordingly.  Provide status updates of current/ongoing/future efforts to leadership and clients.  Ensure technical quality of products delivered to internal and external clients.  Understand and meet current customer needs while also developing new tasking and potential lines of business.  Further grow the technical capabilities (people, methods, and technology) of the data analytics team and foster the professional development of junior staff.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Research, Quantitative Social Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.
    • 5+ years of project leadership experience shaping client tasking, identifying requirements, developing execution plans and research methods, overseeing other analysts, producing analytical products, and presenting results.
    • Well versed in the entire data analytics life-cycle including data collection, management, and analysis functions.
    • Desire to help clients with limited technical knowledge build or mature their data analytics programs.
    • Demonstrated experience creating, implementing, and validating measures of effectiveness and performance.
    • Adept at visualizing both qualitative and quantitative data through dashboards, infographics, or other means.
    • Proven track record of compelling written and oral communications.
    • Experience with a wide variety of data analysis tools such as R, Tableau, MATLAB, Power BI, SAS, Stata, SPSS, etc.
    • Familiarity with database systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, or Access.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
    • U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

    Desired Qualifications 

    • Master’s Degree in Data Science, Operations Research, Quantitative Social Sciences, or related discipline.  
    • Previous role as a technical team lead.
    • Previous experience providing analytic support to the Navy, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Department of Energy, or Department of Homeland Security.
    • Previous experience with performance assurance programs for high consequence operations (e.g., chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear).
    • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
