  • Overview

    The Cyber, Acquisition, Intelligence Group (CAIG) supports the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering’s (OUSD(R&E’s) Damage Assessment Management Office.  This senior position requires daily collaboration with the Military Department DAMO offices and OUSD(R&E’s) Joint Acquisition Protection and Exploitation Cell (JAPEC).  The Senior Military Operations Analyst position will be located at the DoD Cyber Crime Center (DC3) in Linthicum, MD but may be required to attend meetings in the National Capital Region (e.g., Mark Center, Pentagon) and occasionally Quantico and/or Chantilly, VA.


    The candidate will serve as a liaison within the OSD Damage Assessment Management Office (DAMO), coordinating with Military Department DAMOs, the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3), and the DoD’s Defense Industrial Base Cyber Security (DIB CS) Program, and the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).  The candidate will be the primary liaison between DIB companies and OSD DAMO for related damage assessment activities.  The candidate will be responsible for damage assessment case tracking and management, development and tracking of metrics to measure performance against organizational goals.  Coordinate media receipt for data submitted for damage assessment via the DIB CS Program or Defense Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Clause 252.204-7012 (Safeguarding Covered Defense Information and Cyber Incident Reporting).  The candidate will be responsible for data collection, report generation, and preparation of government memoranda, and assist with analysis of policy pertaining to cyber security and the DIB and draft associated guidance.  The candidate must be capable of providing surge triage support of compromised datasets submitted for DAMO analysis.  The candidate may be called upon to brief the DIB, Military Departments, DC3, DIB CS Program and other damage assessment stakeholders, as required.



    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an engineering discipline.
    • Minimum of 15 years of work experience.
    • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years of defense industry engagement.
    • Solid understanding of the DoD acquisition systems.
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Basic knowledge, skill, or ability with Defense Industrial Base Cyber Security Policy, Military Intelligence, Security Management, and demonstrated ability to conduct analysis linking intelligence, acquisition, engineering/technical information.  Analytic ability may be demonstrated in any combination of work products and education.
    • Proficiency with computers, search-functionality, and databases.
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
    • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Graduate Degree.
    • Adjudicated TS/SCI clearance.
    • Ability to work both independently and with personnel from multiple organizations. 
    • Demonstrated ability to work from high-level, limited and evolving guidance in order to produce timely and effective results is highly desirable.
