  • Overview

    The Joint and Marine Corps Analysis Group (JMC) provides timely and objective assessments to the joint warfare community. These assessments integrate the technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business aspects across the various elements of defense department policy planning, capability development, warfare analysis and systems acquisition processes. The CMC CAG and OPNAV N95 support program’s mission is to support the identification, development, and demonstration of forward looking concepts encompassing multi-domain technologies to satisfy Multi-Service and Combatant Commands’ (COCOMs) priorities.

     

    Responsibilities

    Analyzes actual and predictable operational activities of a military, governmental or business system to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision-making. Utilizes knowledge of modeling and analysis techniques, mathematics, probability and statistics, optimization, simulation and other principles and disciplines in developing solutions. Provides integral support in the requirements determination, conceptualization, design, development, testing, documentation, implementation and quality assurance of modeling and simulation-based decision support system applications. Possess the ability to explain modeling methodology and results in everyday language and to translate results into useable output products.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Requires bachelor’s degree in operations research, modeling and simulation, data science, mathematics, systems engineering, or another related technical field.
    • 0-2 years of relevant professional experience in a related technical field.
    • Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task across 2-3 projects.
    • Desire to work with a team and support qualitative analysts on military or government projects.
    • Experience framing complex problems, developing analytical methodologies, as well as defining their metrics and measures.
    • Proficient at building, running and testing simulations for stochastic models, as well as interpreting their results.
    • Proficient with statistics and optimization.
    • Proficient with Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or MS Excel for data analysis and visualization.
    • Desire to enhance the team’s modeling and simulation capabilities.
    • Must be eligible for a DoD clearance; prefer secret clearance.
