    Veracity Forecasting and Analysis, an SPA Company, offers Decision Support services to managers of complex enterprises, providing accurate, objective, and insightful analysis through a unique process that cuts across organizational stovepipes and synchronizes their disparate plans. Whether the enterprise is designed for aircraft inventory, maintenance, or even recruits entering the military service training pipeline, our process and services provide resource managers with new and enlightening information on which to base their decision making.


    From our origins in 2010 we’ve steadily grown our Decision Support services for Department of Defense customers. Veracity’s reputation for successful and innovative analytical methods led to its acquisition in July 2019 by Systems Planning and Analysis (SPA). We are now well positioned for further, accelerated growth through SPA’s existing contracts as well as with new, external customers. We seek a seasoned Business Development professional to help us develop this tremendous opportunity.


    Understanding The Business Development Role


    Veracity serves Department of Defense enterprise managers who face complex managerial and logistical decisions. To aid our customers’ decision making, we provide state-of-the-art forecasting and analysis services, based in part on the unique Naval Synchronization Toolset (NST) process. Veracity is widely known as the driving force behind NST, a key feature of our ability to help customers achieve enterprise efficiency.


    Although the NST process is software-enabled, we do not sell software. We build service-based relationships with our customers to ensure that they receive tailored, objective analysis, free of turf and bias. One of our greatest insights gained through experience is that nearly

    all solutions to enterprise management problems are knotted up among disparate stakeholders and their various interests, business processes, data systems, forecasts, and performance metrics. We help untie the knots by enabling stakeholders to focus on objective analysis for combined decision making.

    In concert with our values, the Business Development professional we seek will find, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities and expand relationships with existing customers. The Business Development professional will also function as a conduit between our customers and our analysts and engineers to ensure accurate communication about customer needs.


    Core Responsibilities


    Help build Veracity’s business development structure and process. This includes working internally with SPA’s divisions and corporate leadership to familiarize them with Veracity’s capabilities.

    Identify new, external customers through research and networking.

    Assist Veracity leadership with business development briefs, collaborating with project leads for technical material.

    Prepare follow-up requests for information from potential customers or teaming partners (e.g., Performance Work Statements, Rough Orders of Magnitude)

    Support company pipeline planning and Customer Resource Management activities

    Ensure ongoing communication between customers and Veracity’s analysts and engineers.

    Cultivate relationships with new and existing customers to better serve their mission.

    Provide subject matter expertise as appropriate for direct bill work.

    Your Background


    First, you must be able to obtain a U.S DoD security clearance which requires US Citizenship


    Beyond that, we’d like to see a solid track record of helping businesses succeed. A mix of small and large business experience would be ideal.


    The mainstay of our work is with US Navy and Marine Corps aviation, along with recently begun work for the USAF. While we value subject matter expertise in these realms, we don’t require it if the fit is right in other ways.


    Do you know what FAR and DCAA mean? That’s a plus. Even more important is experience in the government contracting business, understanding the three-legged stool of customer interest, contracting paths, and funding.


    Along the same lines, we need a creative, analytical problem-solver who can envision the value of our services for new customers (inside and outside the Department of Defense) and can guide those customers to procurement paths that work.


    In terms of personality, this role requires a good balance between a BD professional’s natural extraversion and the ability to interact effectively with our highly skilled technical team, which tends to be more introverted.
