    SPA’s Naval Surface Warfare Analysis Group (NSWAG) provides timely, objective, analytic assessments, strategic planning, and expert operational, technical and acquisition support to the Surface Warfare community. We are trusted agents of the senior leadership in the Fleet, OPNAV, NAVSEA, OSD, DARPA, and the Royal Canadian and Royal Australian Navies. Our deep experience, breadth of support, and analytic expertise allow us to play key roles in developing insights and strategies to address current and emerging challenges to national security.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct tactical/operational analysis, cost/benefit analysis, acquisition program support, modeling and simulation
    • Apply innovative concepts, quantitative tools and creative data visualization methods
    • Contribute to analytic teams developing rigorous solutions to government and military issues
    • Exercise independent judgment and work autonomously with minimal supervision
    • Think strategically and be detail oriented
    • Plan for and handle unexpected situations

    Qualifications

    • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Ops Research, Data Science or other technical area
    • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to address client questions
    • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
    • Some experience with modeling and simulation software• Some coding experience (e.g. MATLAB, VBA)

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance

    Desired

    • Strong customer service skills; anticipate and address client needs proactively
    • Proficiency with simulation products (e.g. AFSIM, NSS, SADM)
    • Current DoD Security Clearance
