    Simulation, Operational Analysis & War-gaming Group (SOWG) conducts technical analysis, war-games, and provides on-site staff augmentation services for OSD, DARPA, SCO, USINDOPACOM and other key Department of Defense organizations.


    SPA has an immediate or near term need for a Program Analyst to support the Joint Assessment & Enabling Capability (JAEC) office within Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Force Education and Training (DASD(FE&T)). 


    Applies knowledge in quantitative and qualitative methods that can be applied to present potential policy solutions and recommendations. Recommends analytical frameworks and approaches and has the ability to use the analysis products to develop OSD-level policy recommendations. Participates individually or as a team member on study and analysis efforts. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides policy and staff support for the assessment of DOD training policies and activities through a lens of previous military service. Implements assessments and analytical procedures leading to potential policy solutions and recommendations. Advises on task priorities, tracks work assignments, develops courses of action, and plans of action & milestones (POAM).


    Required Qualifications:

    • Masters plus 4 years; or Bachelors Degree plus 6 years
    • Ability and maturity to communicate effectively at Flag and Senior Executive Service (SES) levels within the Department of Defense (DOD) and to engage with partners and stakeholders throughout DOD and other government agencies
    • Experience conducting data analysis and assessment in support of DOD organizations
    • Experience in assisting with the development of professional reports and responses to Congressional inquiries with limited direction
    • Military experience (10+ years); Familiarity with Joint Operations and Exercises

    Desired Qualifications: 

    • Experience supporting Joint or Coalition Training Exercises
    • Familiarity with DRRS and JTIMS
    • Basic level capability to conduct quantitative analysis using R
