  • Overview

    The Contracts Administrator supports the full contract and subcontract life-cycle, including the pre and post award contract administration activities related to SPA contracts/task orders as a prime and subcontractor.  The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience supporting Federal Government procurements and contracts, including Departments of Defense and  Homeland Security.  The right individual will be proactive in addressing issues and requests, detail oriented, and have a basic understanding of the FAR and DFARS.  Experience developing subcontracts and purchasing in an approved purchasing system environment is also a plus.

    Responsibilities

    • Negotiates and administers contract agreements under the supervision of a Contracts Director and executes other aspects of the acquisition process in development of new business proposals and resultant contract agreements and task orders.
    • Review solicitation packages and develop compliance checklists and proposal packages. 
    • Ability to negotiate terms and conditions, scope, cost and price of government contracts, subcontracts, non-disclosure agreements, and Teaming Agreements at assigned thresholds.
    • Can work independently on assigned tasks and appropriately applies company practices and policies, as well as government acquisition regulations.
    • Establish and maintain excellent internal and external customer relations at all levels of the organization.
    • Exercises independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Requires analytical ability to understand and interpret complex data and solve complex problems.
    • Regularly interacts with customers, management (at all levels) and members of functional management with regard to acquisition requirements and issue resolution. 
    • Prioritize tasks and assignments in coordination with the supervisor to ensure completion of company priorities.
    • Support subcontracts/purchasing requirements as necessary.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is desired.
    • 3+ years of experience in contract administration with contractors to the federal government.  Background and understanding of government contracts is required.
    • Experience with government contract and subcontract file documentation.  Experience in an approved purchasing system environment is a plus.
    • Experience in negotiating contract terms with the Government and defense contractors.
    • Experience with supporting proposals for federal acquisitions.
    • Basic knowledge of applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations. (ITAR), and related federal and state legislation and regulations.
    • Must be highly proficient in MS Office applications especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • Must have the ability to interface with all levels of management. 
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
    • Must have the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
    • Must be detail oriented, organized and highly motivated. 
    • Active security clearance is a plus.
