    The Simulation, Operational Analysis & Wargaming Group (SOWG) conducts technical analysis, wargames, and provides on-site staff augmentation services for OSD, DARPA, SCO, USINDOPACOM and other key Department of Defense organizations.


    Responsible for using GIS capabilities to support aspects of analysis within multiple projects across DoD and Combatant Command Customers. Providing geospatial support to teams and identifying where geospatial products and tools can enhance and improve analytic tasks.

    • Creates, compiles, integrates, digitizes, and updates raster and vector map data from multiple sources to support analysis of operational scenarios to include evaluation of the impact of terrain, geography, and transportation infrastructure on weapons system operations, performance, and mobility.
    • Maintains GIS base maps and fundamental layers for reference and use by analysis team;
    • Develops and maintains data layers, models, and products to support analysis of military issues;
    • Works with military analysts to develop GIS tools, and create maps, charts, graphs, and other related information to convey military assessments


    Required Qualifications:

    • Pursuing college degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or similar field.
    • Experience with Geospatial Analysis including the use of Geographic Information Systems (e.g. ArcGIS or qGIS), geospatial data gathering and analysis, and map and database production.
    • Understanding of modern geographic information system theory, practice, and tools; Relational database management systems
    • Excellent written and oral skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to gain a SECRET or higher clearance


    Desired Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geographic Information Systems or similar technical field.
    • Experience in Python scripting for GIS. 
    • Active SECRET or higher clearance.
