The Information Technology (IT) Systems Administration Team establishes and maintains the technology infrastructure and application support services required by our analysts to deliver timely, objective and cost-effective analysis. We design, develop, and deploy hardware- and software based solutions in close coordination with SPA’s client-facing groups all while implementing the necessary measures to ensure network security and protect customer data. 


We are looking for a Senior System Administrator with a positive attitude that can serve as the technical lead for SPA’s Exchange based email environment, administer multiple implementations of Microsoft SharePoint, and support a variety of other enterprise applications that require 24x7 availability.  Other responsibilities include building and configuring physical and virtual servers, managing Active Directory and domain-level system settings via Group Policy Objects, planning for and responding to service outages, upgrading or migrating applications to ensure software remains current, managing system resources to optimize application performance, and supporting the development of disaster recovery and continuity of operations plans.  


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical discipline (may substitute with relevant work experience).
  • 5+ years managing/administering Microsoft Exchange based email environments and collaboration applications such as Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience working in virtualized environments using platforms such as Hyper-V, Citrix XenApp, or VMware vSphere.
  • Strong skills in Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Object (GPO) management, and DNS.
  • Experiencing implementing DoD security requirements and NIST standards.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for Microsoft technologies including Exchange, SharePoint, and DNS.
  • Experience with BMC Footprints or Remedy IT service and asset management platform.
  • Experience managing SAN and NAS storage solutions.
  • Experience administering Atlassian collaboration products such as Jira Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, Trello, Crowd, and etc.
